Dropping all the way back in 2006 during the “Black Box” Nike SB Era, the “Three Bears Pack” featured the Dunk High, Mid, and Low, and focused on the 19th-century tail of three bears and a young girl named Goldilocks. Known for their fun and unusual collaborations, the Nike SB Three Bears Pack took things to a new level with the incorporation of furry accents and a bold use of colour to represent the outfits of each bear.
The Dunk High “Papa Bear” boasts a light brown furry upper representing the bears hair, overlaid by navy accents to represent Papa’s overalls, and pops of red on the swoosh and laces. At over 15 years old, it’s a special pair to see in hand, and a true grail-status choice for many sneakerheads. The only thing that could make things better would be having the full “Three Bears” pack in hand, with the low and mid also fetching top dollar on the resell market.
Since their release, there have been few collaborative editions that stick out just as much as this, but one that does come to mind is the more recent Grateful Dead pack, including the “Opti Yellow”, “Green”, and “Orange” iterations, all boasting a fuzzy upper and bold use of colour, reminiscent of the loveable cuddly Three Bears release.
